Local Track Teams Compete At CKC Championship

The Mercer County Titans and Burgin Bulldogs track and field teams participated in the CKC Championship hosted by Woodford County on Friday, May I.

In a loaded meet that included 17 schools, the Mercer boys team finished just off the podium, coming in fourth place with 99.50 points. The Mercer girls secured fifth place with 67 points and the Burgin girls placed 12th, scoring 17 points.

Mercer had six first­place finishes on the day, and senior Ralasia Piazza earned half of those, winning the high jump, triple jump and long jump. Sophomore Maddi Baker took home a pair of bronze medals in the throwing events and senior Grayson Perry placed third in pole vault.
