For families looking to make the most of summer without the expense of a long trip, Anderson-Dean Community Park (1501 Louisville Road). offers a destination that’s right in Mercer County’s backyard.
The Anderson-Dean Aquatic Center has become one of the area’s most popular summertime attractions, drawing hundreds of visitors from Mercer County and neighboring communities who are looking for an affordable way to cool off, relax and create lasting family memories.
“We have seen an uptick in attendance as the pool is a premier destination for families within our community and from nearby communities,” said Aquatics Director Karla Curtsinger. “This year, our attendance numbers have reached pre-COVID shutdown numbers. We often have over 300 people in attendance, and even some of our pool parties have had more than 300 guests.”
The pool provides fun for all ages and tries to be inclusive to a variety of ages and swimming experiences. Whether visitors are bringing toddlers, teenagers or grandparents, Curtsinger said the aquatic facility was designed with families in mind.
