C.J. Yocum

Charles J. “C.J.” Yocum, 76, husband of Janet Evers Yocum, of Rochester, Ind., died Friday, July 3, 2026. 

Born Oct. 15, 1949, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Charles and Bessie (Lunsford) Yocum.

He was a 1967 graduate of Mercer County High School, was a U.S. Air Force and USAF Reserves veteran with service ranging  from Vietnam to Operation Enduring Freedom and was a teacher and coach.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: one daughter, Andrea (Peter) Konshak; one son, Jason (Melissa) Yocum and two grandchildren

A Celebration of Life will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, July 25, at the Rans Funeral Home in Kewanna, Ind.

He was preceded in death by four siblings, in-laws, Leonard and Nancy Evers and brother-in-law, Rick Evers. 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Outlet Youth Center, Rochester or Special Olympics through Manitou Training Center, Rochester, Ind.
