James Browning
James Isom Browning, 80, husband of Stephanie Louise (Bartleson) Browning, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, May 22, 2026, at jte Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 21, 1945, in Mackville, he was the son of the late Lloyd Sylvester Sr. and Barbara Frances (Young) Browning.
He was a member of the Second Street Christian Church in Danville and a retired service technician for Atmos Energy Corporation.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: two daughters, Jessica Dale Browning of Harrodsburg and Azelia (Timothy) Campbell of Louisville; two sons, Jeff Guest and Devonne Smith both of Danville; four sisters, Georgia Dunn of Lexington, Judy (Kenneth) Jones, Mary (John) Harris and Barbara Meaux all of Harrodsburg and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and caregiver, Geri Souder.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Browning Jr. and Johnny Browning.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, May 29, at Sims Funeral Services with Bro. Jerry Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Shane Dunn, D.K. Meaux, Brandon Goins, Nicholas Smith, Lyndon Smith and Capone Smith.
Visitation Friday 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
