Burgin Softball Review: Bulldogs Exceed Expectations In 2026

Ashton Lester finished her senior season with 31 runs scored and 17 hits. Lester also struck out 34 batters in 54 innings pitched for the Bulldogs.

The Burgin Bulldogs softball team finished the 2026 season with a 6-16 record and lost to the Mercer County Titans in the first round of the 46th District tournament.
This was the fourth season under Head Coach Russel Jenkins, and he was proud of how his team finished the year, acknowledging that they had a slow start.
“There was a point early in the season where I wondered if we’d get any wins at all. We ended up with six wins, one more than last year. So I was pleased with how we closed the season,” said Coach Jenkins.
