James Wheeler
James Lester Wheeler, 93, of Harrodsburg, widower of Lois Jane Catlett Wheeler, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at the Willows of Harrodsburg.
Born Nov. 14, 1931, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Dwight and Vergie (Rogers) Wheeler.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a lifelong farmer, a member of the Bethel #1 Cumberland Presbyterian Church and recently attended the Harrodsburg Christian Church, served his church as an elder for 60 years, was a 31-year member of the Gideon’s and served on the Conservation Board for some 32 years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Kim (Bob) Davis of Harrodsburg; Jayne (Steve) Wheeler of Independence; one son, Steve (Tracy) Wheeler of Mason, Ohio; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister- in-law, George and Betty Wheeler.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 15, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel. Burial with Micki McHugh officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Colby Davis, Will Davis, Sheldon Wheeler, Jared Wheeler, Max Smith and Nicholas Moore.
