Libby Doyle

Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Doyle, 94, widow of John B. Doyle, died Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

Born Dec. 30, 1930, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Claude B. and Bessie Sallee Merriman.

She was a 1949 Graduate of Rose Hill High School, was a state retiree having served in various roles, and was a lifelong member of Berea Christian Church in Harrodsburg.

Survivors include: two daughters, Janie Reynolds and Jennifer (Miles) Jacobi; two sons, Michael Ray (Martha) Gabhart and Larry Keith Gabhart, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Edith Drury of Nicholasville; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Merriman and Edna Merriman, both of Harrodsburg; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Charles and Arnold Merriman, and one sister, Helen Ryan.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 4, at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Bro. Nelson Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery .

Pallbearers were Chris Reynolds, Joseph Gabhart, Jason Gabhart, Elizabeth Poynter, Sara Allen and Rachael Gabhart.
