2024 Oktoberfest Will Be ‘Unchained’: Three Days Of Beats, Brats And Brews Start Oct. 4

It’ll be time to dance the nights away when Oktoberfest returns Friday, Oct. 4. The Van Halen tribute band Completely Unchained will headline the three-day festival. They’ll hit the stage running on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The Harrodsburg Animal Hospital Oktoberfest 5K Run also happens on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 9 a.m. at Anderson-Dean Community Park (1501 Louisville Road). Medals will be awarded in the 5K run, which benefits student ministry at Harrodsburg Baptist Church. A T-shirt is included with the entry fee. Free race photos will be posted. All participants over 21 will receive $1 off beer purchase by presenting their bib at the beer tent. Strollers are allowed in the 5K but dogs are not allowed. Check-in is on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 8 a.m.

Tony Patterson of the Harrodsburg Lions Club was grilling up a storm at last year’s Oktoberfest festival in downtown Harrodsburg. This year’s Oktoberfest starts Friday, Oct. 4, and runs through the weekend.

There will be music playing at both stages on Main Street as well as appearances by the Studio G Thriller Dancers. Here’s the entertainment line-up for Oktoberfest 2024:

Friday, Oct. 4
Starts 5 p.m.
Friday’s headliner will be alternative rock band Sheerflow. Other acts performing Friday include the Pour Decisions, Bootsie’s Heart and Soul, Trailer Trash, the Carey Band, Sugar Run Road and Jay Fox and the Jammin’ Germans.
In addition, the Kids Zone at Harrodsburg Baptist Church (312 South Main Street) will open at 6 p.m. Secure check-in location with background checked volunteers where kids can play games, snack and play. Parents can enjoy the night out knowing their kids are in great hands.

Saturday, Oct. 5
Starts at noon
Saturday’s acts include Sticktight, the Marble Creek Rangers, Vinyl Richie, Brando Vanschoyck, VSP Band, Jay Fox and the Jammin’ Germans, the Vanguard Band, the Cheryl and Shorty Show, KBToo and Cat Rogers and the headliners, Completely Unchained.

In addition, there will be a Cornhole Tournament hosted by CAFCA Cares with cash prizes starting at 3 p.m. Also, there will be free family fun at Kinderland with Party on Air Inflatables all day Saturday and Sunday and Kids Storytime with Miss Kentucky on Saturday.

Sunday, Oct. 6
Starts at noon
Sunday’s acts include the Messina Brothers Band, Broken Logic, the Imposters and Sunday’s headliner, Nightflyer.
In addition, the Harrodsburg Baptist Church will host a Sunday worship service on the Main Stage starting at 10:30 a.m.
In addition to live music all weekend on two stages, there will be more than 20 beers on tap. Local food vendors and restaurants will be serving up traditional German fare and festival style treats. Look out for the sugary stroopwaffles from the Knights of Columbus and the grilled brats and hotdogs from the Harrodsburg Lions Club grills amazing that you definitely don’t want to miss.

In addition to artists and vendors on the street, downtown businesses will be open all weekend.
