The Mercer County Titans baseball team (21-16) fell, 3-5, to the Danville Admirals (23-13) in the 12th Region Tournament semifinals on Wednesday, May 27.

The two teams split games during the season, and the first five innings of this match-up looked like it would go the Titans’ way, but the game flipped in the sixth inning. Mercer got off to a hot start, scoring three runs to open the game, and Danville didn’t get on the scoreboard until a lone run in the fourth inning. Junior Davis Tyler pitched five innings and gave up seven hits and five runs while striking out three batters. Freshman Tucker Dean subbed onto the mound in the sixth inning for one strikeout.
