Weekender For June 27—July 4: ‘1776,’ Independence Day Fireworks, ‘James Harrod,’ And More

Ragged Edge Community Theatre’s production of”1776″ continues this week with show times starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29, and a matinee performance at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30. Tickets are $12.
Fireworks at Anderson-Dean Community Park happens Wednesday, July 3. In addition to fireworks, there will be food trucks, including Biscuit’s BBQ and Catering, Bus N’ it Out, Casa Mobile, Triple J&C BBQ Team. Snacks and sweets include M&J Concessions, Poppin’ J’s, Snowie Ice and the Scoop. There will also be face painting by Blushed Cheeks.

The 22nd Annual Lights Over Herrington happens at the Kennedy Bridge on Friday, July 5. The biggest fireworks shows in Mercer County starts at dusk

Also starting on Friday, July 5, live drama returns to Old Fort Harrod State Park when “James Harrod: The Battle for Kentucky” begins a monthlong run. Performances are scheduled to start at 8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in July.
