Our ears are still ringing from the Fourth of July but the busiest part of the summer is just getting started. So pace yourself and remember to keep hydrated.
First up, the Friday Night On Main live entertainment series returns with the 190 Proof Bluegrass Band and food from Capt. Franks Hotdog Emporium, Grillin’ Good Eats, the Scoop and Poppin’ Js as well as craft vendors and games. The fun starts at 6 p.m.
That event is being organized by the Harrodsburg First Main Street Program, who are very busy this weekend. On Saturday morning, Harrodsburg First’s mural committee will officially reveal the mural at Young’s Park (Linden Avenue). Visitors can also learn about Graham Springs, see the “Dancing Lady” and enjoy art activities for all ages, including children’s face painting. Bring your own chair, drinks and snacks. The fun starts 10 a.m.
Don’t forget Mercer County Week at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill (3501 Lexington Road) continues until Sunday, July 10, Mercer County residents with a valid ID may attend Shakertown’s daily programs and exhibits at no cost.
