Deputy Talks Man Threatening Suicide Into Surrendering

A potential tragedy was averted this weekend thanks to smart police work by Dep. Tim Gambrel of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Ernie Kelty, his deputies were called to Cottonwood Estates on Sunday, April 7, around 8 p.m.

A man with a 9mm handgun had shut himself inside a garage and was threatening to kill himself.
