Mercer Titans Golf Team Finish Sixth Place in Fourth Region Tournament

The Mercer County Boys Golf team finished sixth out of 18 teams, in the fourth region tournament, Tuesday, Sept. 30, at Connemara Golf Course in Nicholasville.

The Titans, who shot a team total of 333, were led by Connor True, who shot a team-low 80, which was good enough for 17th place out of 91 participants.

Mercer County’s lone senior, Corey Shewmaker, finished second for the Titans and 23rd overall, with an 82.

“I think we did really well at region as a team,” said Shewmaker.

The West Jessamine Colts won the tournament with a team score of 306. The Colts also had the individual winner. Connor Hass shot a tournament- low 72.
