The Mercer County Titans advanced to the Semi-final round of the KHSAA State Tournament Wednesday night defeating the Blackcats of Prestonsburg, 6-2.

Mercer starting pitcher Jon Banks got the win giving up no hits on one run through five innings while striking out five batters. “I was a little nervous at first pitching in front of all these people,” said Banks. “I settled down and gave it everything I had, and my defense was great. I know I can trust in them and go out and pitch to contact and there be no problems.”
