Souder to Coach Kentucky Girls All-Stars

In his 14th season as the Mercer County girls head basketball coach, there is little Chris Souder hasn’t accomplished. Some of his most notable achievements include winning 12 46th District Championships, making the 12th Region tournament in all 14 seasons, winning the 12th Region in 2003 to advance to the state tournament, winning his 300th game in 2012, as well as numerous 12th Region Coach of the Year titles. 

With so much success over the course of his career, it’s surprising that his most notable achievement came this season, when he was named the head coach of the Kentucky Girl’s All-Star team. 

“Winning the region was pretty sweet. As a young coach it was one of my goals to make it to the state tournament,” said Souder. “But, I see this, being named the All-Star Team Head Coach as the pinnacle.”
