Eddie Lee Matthews Sr.

Eddie Lee Matthews Sr., 64, died Monday, July 6, 2026, at his residence. 

Born March 25, 1962, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Fred Votaw and Mary Edith Matthews (Ben) Medley. 

He was a retired florist and of the Christian faith. 

Survivors include: two sons, Eddie Lee (Jessica Cody) Matthews II of Berea and Josh (Casey) Matthews of Harrodsburg; one sister, Sheila Matthews of Harrodsburg; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by life long friend, Arnold Meeks and one brother, Talt “Junior” Matthews.

Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2026, at Spring Hill Cemetery Pavilion with John Kesel officiating.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Lee Matthews, II, Josh Matthews, Chad Messersmith, Gavin Matthews and Austin Lewis.  

Visitation 12-1 p.m., Friday at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
