Russel Gibson

Russell Wayne Gibson, 53, of Lancaster, died Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Salvisa.

Born Jan. 30, 1973, in Manchester, he was the son of Kathleen (Henson) Gibson and the late Delbert Gibson.

He was a member of Harrodsburg Baptist Church, attended Carpenters Christian Church and worked for Vulcan and Hitachi Automotive.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: one daughter, Makenzy (Jared) Cox of Lawrenceburg; one sister, Deborah (Jeff) Currens of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Charles (Lisa) Gibson and Michael (Savannah Martin) Gibson of Harrodsburg; special aunt, Sandy Brown of Harrodsburg; special friend, Frankie Morrison of Harrodsburg; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Keylee Shaye Gibson.

Funeral services are 1 p.m., today, Thursday, June 11, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel with John Kessel officiating. Burial is in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Frankie Morrison, Jared Cox, Jason Currens, Charles Gibson Jr., Austin Bickers and Larry Wayne Cox.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Ransdell Funeral Chapel to assist the family with final expenses.
