ELIZABETH SANDERS

Elizabeth Tingle Sanders, 89, widow of Hollis Sanders, died Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Born June 22, 1936, in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse B. and Gillie Ann Sagracy Tingle.

She was a Christian, a farmer and worked in factories in Springfield and Harrodsburg. 

Survivors include: one daughter, Cecelia (the late Charles) Cole; one sister, Martha Marie (the late Hughie) Willard of Lebanon; one brother, William Thomas (Margaret) Tingle of Elizabethtown; two grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy (the late Bobby) Perkins, Mae (Bill) Yaste and Martha (Joe) Nally, and three brothers, Ray (the late Mary Helen) Tingle, Charles (the late Bonita) Tingle and Richard (Lana) Tingle.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with John McDaniel and Jamie Chesser officiating.  Burial will be in the Willisburg Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard Dartt, David White, Jonathan Cole, Stephen Cole, Matthew Cole and Nathan Cole.  

Visitation 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
