The Harrodsburg-Mercer County Tourist Commission has hired Chase Blain as the new operations director of Anderson-Dean Community Park, starting Monday, Aug. 10.
The tourist commission voted unanimously to hire Blain at a special-called meeting on Thursday, July 16.

A native of Falls of Rough, which lies on the border of Breckinridge and Grayson Counties, Blain graduated from Western Kentucky University in December 2024. He also earned an associate of arts degree from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College in 2023. While still enrolled at Western Kentucky, Blain completed an internship at Elizabethtown Sports Park before being promoted to event coordinator.
Once Blain assumes his duties as operations director at Anderson-Dean, his salary will be $65,000 a year plus benefits, according to Daarik Gray, executive director of the tourist commission.
Gray has said they received 150 applicants for the operations director position. The tourist commission has still not made a decision on hiring an assistant operations director or maintenance and facilities director at Anderson-Dean.
