JAMES STRATTON

James “Jimmy” Stratton, 63, husband of Karen Gilbert Stratton died Sunday, June 21, 2026, at the Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 11, 1962 in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late James “Jim” and Jonelle Ross Stratton.

He was a retired Mercer County School Transportation bus driver and bus mechanic, attended Ballard Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg and later was a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include:  one son, Lucas Stratton of Harrodsburg; three brothers, Ricky Joe Stratton of Lawrenceburg, Doug (Beth) Stratton of Lawrenceburg and Dallas (Kristy) Stratton of Oklahoma; one sister, Robbi (George) Anderson of Lawrenceburg, father-in-law, Garry Gilbert of Lawrenceburg and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Raymond Stratton and mother-in-law, Pam Beasley Gilbert.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, June 29, at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services with Mark King officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lucas Stratton, Ricky Joe Stratton, Doug Stratton, Terry Wayne Stratton, Brandon Stratton, Billy Gilbert, Branden Hooper and Jim Bedford.

Visitation 5 – 8 p.m., Sunday and 7 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home.
