James Parman

James Harold Parman, 85, widower of Evelyn Doris Brown Parman, died Tuesday, June 15, 2026, in Harrodsburg.
Born on Aug. 26, 1940, in London, he was the son of the late Willard H. Parman and Elizabeth Nantz Parman.
Survivors include one son, Nic (Fiona Young-Brown) Brown.
He was a 1958 graduate of London High School, earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in English while attending Union College and the University of Kentucky, was a radio personality covering news and sports for WFTG in London, managed WHIR and WMGE in Danville and WRNZ in Lancaster, was later general manager and operations manager for Hometown Radio Network and managed programming for WHBN “The Rooster,” owned and operated Frusen Glädjé ice cream franchises, served as director of information for the Kentucky Department for Mental Health served on the board for the Bluegrass Regional Mental Health and Mental Retardation Board, was a volunteer firefighter for the Laurel County Fire Department and served in the Kentucky National Guard.
Memorial services will be held 6 p.m., Thursday, July 9, at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Charlie Perry officiating.
Visitation 4 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
