CAROLYN PREWITT

Rose “Carolyn” Prewitt, 92, widow of John “Johnnie” H. Prewitt, of Stanford, died Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Stanford Crossing.

Born Oct. 22, 1933, in Mackville, she was the daughter of the late Owen J. and Thenia (Taylor) Bottom.

She was a member, Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir at Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Stanford, had several poems published and worked for Corning.

Survivors include: three daughters, Kathy (Ricky) Carey of Stanford, Nancy (Dave) Carter of Columbus, Ohio, and Ann Prewitt of Lexington; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren, seventeen step great-grandchildren; four step great-great-grandchildren; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Bottoms.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 23, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Brad King and Charlie Lynn officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ryan McGeorge, Matthew Garrison, David Carter, Jeremy Pawley, Tim White and Billy Joe Bottoms. Honorary pallbearers were Jackson Pawley, Sawyer Pawley, Ricky Carey, Jordan Bottoms, Dr. Brian Ellis, Billy Moberly, Johnny Kolasa and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
