Rita Shelley

Rita Carol Shelley, 69, widow of Cloyd (C.A.) Shelley, of Harrodsburg, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at her home.

Born Aug. 7, 1956, in Cub Run, she was the daughter of the late Cleo and Norma (McDowell) Meredith.

She was a homemaker, volunteered at the Isaiah House and was a member of the Carpenters Christian Church.

Survivors include: three sisters, Helen Proffitt, Judy Meredith and Tracy (Karl) Haydon, all of Lexington; three brothers, Jimmie (Sharon) Meredith of Munfordville, Ronnie Meredith of Louisville and Marvin (Debbie) Meredith of Winchester; and one bonus daughter, Joanne (Eddie) Early of Harrodsburg.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Trulock.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 12, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel with Keith Creech officiating. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Kent Dowell, Cody Meredith, Lucas Proffitt, Trevor Royse, Kyle Spivey and Eddie Early.
