James Carey
James L. “Jimmy” Carey, Jr., 58, of Burgin died Sunday, June 14, 2026 at his home.
Born Sept. 8, 1967, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of Violet M. Carey of Burgin and the late James Lewis Carey Sr.
He was a member of Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church and enjoyed playing video games.
Survivors, in addition to his mother include: four sisters, Mary Donna Carey (Kenneth) Holland of London, Kimberly (John) Stine of Florida, Cynthia Annett (Jeff) Ison of Sadieville and Melissa Charlene Carey Truscott of Harrodsburg; eight nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Larry Holbrook and Mark Tolson officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Cole, Hunter Day, Gary Dearing, Paul Hensley, Bobby Devine and Arthur Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers Members of Herrington Lake Pentecostal Church will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
