Burgin Track Star Staying Close To Home

Kate Hatfield has been a mainstay of the Burgin athletics program since she was a seventh grader. The track and field star that has also played tennis, golf, basketball and cheered for the Bulldogs this year. Hatfield has chosen to sign with Centre College to continue her education and her track and field career at the next level.

Hatfield has excelled in track and field since qualifying for state as a seventh grader and has only gotten better with three region championships, two state runner-ups, and a conference championship. She is the school record holder in high jump with a height of 5-0. Hatfield’s drive to win and competitiveness  was a driving factor in her choice to pick Centre.
