Jaguar Bats Too Strong For Titans

The Mercer County Titans (7-7) fell 6-15 to the East Jessamine Jaguars (16-4) on Thursday, April 16.
The Titans had no answer for the East Jessamine batters, who had five home runs in the contest and 13 total hits. Mercer rotated pitching duties, starting with sophomore Ava Musick and then going to senior Ella Davis, followed by sophomore Reese Ransdell.
Mercer opened up the game batting and had three quick outs, including a pop-out from junior Jaley Bowman and two strikeouts. The Jaguars started the bottom of the first inning, hitting a single to center field. Senior Jayla Sanders made a catch in left field, and Ransdell corralled a ground ball at shortstop for two outs in a row for Mercer. East Jessamine hit back-to-back home runs to take a three-run lead, 0-3. Following a hit by pitch, the Titans ended the first inning with junior Lily Hart catching a fly ball in center field.
