A Harrodsburg man is facing charges of kidnapping after a domestic dispute last week.
Officers from the Harrodsburg Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Perryville Street on Thursday, Aug. 28, after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to the uniform citation, a woman had been watching a movie at a neighbor’s house when her estranged husband, subsequently identified as Blake D. Norton, 38, entered the residence and began assaulting the neighbor. Norton then grabbed his estranged wife’s arm and forced her to get into a truck, according to the uniform citation.
As they began driving towards Danville, the victim told police Norton placed his hand on her neck and “pushed upward towards her throat,” according to the uniform citation.
The Danville Police Department stopped Norton at the Argyle subdivision in Danville. According to the uniform citation, Norton denied kidnapping his wife but admitting putting his hand to her chest. Norton told police he would never hurt his wife, according to the uniform citation.
When asked about assaulting the neighbor, Norton told police he would not hurt his wife and kids, according to the uniform citation. The neighbor wrote a statement that Norton had entered his residence and hit him multiple times in the head, according to the uniform citation.
Norton was arrested and charged with 1st degree wanton endangerment, kidnapping an adult, violating a Kentucky EPO/DVO, 4th degree assault—domestic violence (minor injury), 4th degree assault—minor injury and 3rd degree burglary. At press time, he was being held on a $50,000 bond at Jessamine County Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Sept. 8, according to the jail website.
