Jenkins Sweeps Youth Division At Dairy Show

The Mercer County Fair and Horse Show kicked off with their annual dairy show on Saturday, July 19 at the livestock pavilion.
Burgin student, Leah Jenkins, left with the hardware for the youth division after receiving the C.H. McRay Memorial Supreme youth female trophy and Supreme youth junior champion, supreme youth senior champion, along with senior showmanship. Also in the open division, Stella Franklin won the supreme junior champion and Leah Jenkins won the supreme senior champion. In showmanship, Chelsie Watts won the junior division.
There will be several livestock shows this Saturday, July 27, with the swine show starting at 9 a.m. at the pavilion. The open rabbit show will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the floral hall. The goat show starts at 1 p.m. at the pavilion. The livestock shows wrap up for 2025 with the open beef show on Monday, July 28, starting at 6 p.m.
