Celebrate Like The Irish At The Shamrock Shuffle On March 15

Hogtown will turn into a little slice of the Emerald Isle on Saturday, March 15, when the third annual Shamrock Shuffle returns. This year, the Harrodsburg-Mercer County Tourist Commission is adding a 5K race through downtown Harrodsburg.
The tourist commission is partnering with APEX Promos to bring what they are billing as a “fun and festive” race, which will start at Olde Town Park (126 South Main Street) at 8 a.m.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to enjoy the holiday, this family-friendly event offers something for everyone. Participants are invited to dress in theirr favorite green gear, bring your Irish spirit, and get ready to shuffle past iconic landmarks in downtown Harrodsburg. The cost is $25 with $350 prizes for male and female overall winners, $150 for male and female second place runners, and $50 for male and female third place runners. There will also be age group awards for runners all the way up to 70 plus.
Runners can pick up their packets on Friday, March 14, at Sitbe Cider (225 South Main Street) from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or on the day of the race at Olde Town Park from 7 to 7:45 am.
You can also win prizes at the third annual Shamrock Shuffle. Visit six of the nine participating businesses for a chance to win a gift basket valued at over $500. The first 15 visitors at each location will receive a free commemorative T-shirt commemorating.
There will also be drink and food specials at each location as well as live music at select locations. Participants in the Shamrock Shuffle must be 21 years or older to participate and do not have to purchase alcoholic beverages to win.
For those who choose to partake, Central Kentucky Tours will be available to transport you to the different locations.
In addition, PuppyLove KY will have a Petting Zone at the Main Street Lot (133 South Main Street, next door to Olde Town Park) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
