Merle Hart Sr.

Merle J. Hart, Sr., 87, of Harrodsburg, husband of Charlotte Mae (McRay) Hart, died Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Willows in Harrodsburg. Born Feb. 1, 1937, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Robert and Virgie (Atkinson) Hart. He was a self-employed carpenter, and was a member and deacon of the Grace Baptist Church in Danville. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: one daughter, Teresa Hart Coleman and one son, Merle (Lisa) J. Hart Jr. both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Geraldine (Homer) Calvert of Frankfort; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son-in-law, David Coleman and two brothers, Marshall Hart and Ralph Hart.
