Stephens Leads Titans To 46th District Championship Game

The Mercer County Titans baseball team (19-15) advanced to the 46th district championship with a 3-0 win over the East Jessamine Jaguars (19-14) on Monday, May 18.
Senior pitcher Ayden Stephens pitched all seven innings, struck out 10 batters and gave up four hits and one walk. Senior Noah Worthington had the only run batted in the game and also made some big plays at catcher.
East Jessamine batted first and started the game with a ground ball single. Freshman Cooper Haven caught a fly ball in right field for the first out of the game and senior Jackson Doughty followed by catching a lineout at his shortstop position. The Jaguars put another runner on base from a line drive to right field. Stephens got the third out with a strikeout.
