Weekender July 4—12: Independence Day Fireworks, ‘James Harrod’ And So Much More

Let’s get right into the boom-boom-boom. The Fourth of July at Millennium Park in Danville happens Thursday, July 4, starting at 5 p.m. with music by the Lexington Concert Band and J.D. Shelburne starting at 6:30 p.m.
There will also be fireworks at Royalty’s Marina on Thursday, July 4, starting at 10 p.m.
The biggest fireworks shows in Mercer County happens Friday, July 5. The 22nd Annual Lights Over Herrington is presented by Kamp Kennedy Marina, Chimney Rock Marina and Restaurant and Pandora Marina. The fireworks start at dusk.
On Saturday, July 6, there will be fireworks shows at Freeman’s Cane Run Marina and RV Park and Herrington Lake Marina. The fireworks are scheduled to start at 10 p.m.
That’s not the only fireworks available this week. Live drama returns to Old Fort Harrod State Park on Friday, July 5, when “James Harrod: The Battle for Kentucky” begins a monthlong run. Performances are scheduled to start at 8 p.m. every Friday and Saturday in July.

Chris and Alyson Rogers are hosting the 7th Annual Rogers Raft-Up on Saturday, July 6.
