Weekender May 18–25: A.T.O.M. Fest, Dairy Breakfast, Fish Derby And So Much More This Weekend

Another busy weekend coming up with A.T.O.M. Fest, the Dairy Breakfast and much more.

Like tomatoes? The Mercer County Cooperative Extension Office will be giving away tomato plants Thursday, May 18. Giveaway. They will also be teaching how to grow productive tomatoes all summer long. The Tomato giveaway runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or as long as supplies last. The presentation starts 10 a.m.

The Extension Office will also host the Mercer County Dairy Breakfast on Saturday, May 20, from 6:30 to 10 a.m. Tickets for the annual celebration of National Dairy Month costs $5 each. Proceeds benefit Mercer County Dairy Show. For more information about either event, call 859-734-4378.

The third annual A.T.O.M. (A Thing On Main) Festival happens Saturday, May 20. Festival starts 2 p.m. on Main Street with live music by Duncan Shadrack, 3 to 5 p.m.; Sheerflow, 5:30 to 7;30 p.m.; and Side By Side, 8 to 10:30 p.m. Food by Grillin’ Good Eats, the Combination on Main, the Casa Mobile, Biscuits BBQ. the Scoop and Taylor Belle’s Ice Cream. There will also be plenty to drink, including Bum Ditty Hard Cider by the Vault, Lemons Mill Brewery, Rock House Brewery and Colonial Wines. Proceeds benefit Honor Flight Kentucky.

In addition, A.T.O.M. Fest will honor local veterans on a mobile billboard. Message a photo of your veteran with their name, branch of service and years served and they will be featured. For more information or to honor a local veteran, message the A.T.O.M. Fest Facebook page.

In the Warehouse District along Office Street, the Rock Haven Bourbon Bar Spring Bourbon, Beer and Music Fest happens from 3 to 10 p.m.. The festival features potent potables from Peerless Distillery, Country Boy Brewing as well as food from Hogtown BBQ, craft vendors and the Beards Without Borders beard competition. Live music by D. Boone Pittman and the Fugitives.

Also on Saturday, the 11th Annual D.A.R.E. Fishing Derby happens at Mercer County Fish and Game Farm (249 White Lane) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Harrodsburg Police Department invites everyone for free food and drink and door prizes.
