Easter is here and Mercer County will be full of colorful events with local churches and organizations holding Easter egg hunts and holiday services.
Old Fort Harrod State Park (100 South College Street). is celebrating its first week open to the public again by playing host to the Harrodsburg Kiwanis Club Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event is open to children up to the age of 12.
On Sunday, April 9, there will also be Easter buffets at the Beaumont Inn and the 19th Hole Restaurant. For more information, check out the listings below. All Easter events will be marked with an Easter Egg.
And we can’t forget some returning favorites. On Saturday, April 8, the Mercer County Farm Thangs Swap Meet happens at Southern States with poultry, small animal and farm goods on sale starting at 8 a.m. Heavy metal thunder returns to the Mercer County Fairgrounds when the Spring Brawl Demolition Derby happens that night starting at 6 p.m.
Check out the dinosaurs and fossils of other mega fauna on display at the Mercer County Public Library, which is open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 859-734-3680 or visit mcplib.info.
