Margaret Knapp

Margaret Witherspoon Meredith Belding Knapp, 83, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at the Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. 

Born April 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Overton Meredith and Mabel Kirby Witherspoon Meredith.  

She worked at Danville Office Supply, Old Fort Harrod State Park, was a substitute teacher in the Harrodsburg and Mercer County Schools and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Thomas N. (Lisa deceased) Belding and David M. (Leisa) Belding; one daughter, Mary Ann (Jeff) Rawlings;  two step daughters, Penny Brown and Debbie Davis (Jeff); 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one niece and nephew. 

She was preceded in death by a special aunt, Margaret Witherspoon, daughter-in-law, Lisa Belding, first husband and father of her children, Thomas N. Belding and second husband, Richard B. Knapp.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.  

Pallbearers were Josh and Zach Belding, Jeff Rawlings, William Harris, Devin Peach, Phillip Wysocki and Tre Rawlings.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimers Association, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to Mercer County Habitat for Humanity
