Elaine Schroeder
Elaine Marie Schroeder, 79, wife of Bernard “Jerry” Schroeder died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at the Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 25, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Walter Albertz and Dorothy Zimmer Albertz Bissonette.
She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Andrew Catholic Church. Throughout her lifetime, Elaine was a master of serving and volunteering. She was a volunteer for 20 years with the St. Andrew Youth Group, Mercer County Little League Baseball, James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Christian Life Center and served as a Eucharistic Minister, as well as a past secretary of the St. Andrew Catholic Church. She was a recipient of the 2011 Mercer County Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Award. She enjoyed traveling and she and Jerry have visited all 50 states and many countries. She enjoyed her family and going to all events her grandchildren were involved in.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include: two daughters, Linda (Mike) Hostetter of Lexington and Gail Schroeder of San Rafael, California; two sons, Gary (Tonya) Schroeder of Danville and Michael (Tamme) Schroeder of Harrodsburg; one brother, Denny (Linda) Albertz of Cincinnati; 10 grandchildren, Chase Hostetter, Taylor Schroeder, Tyler Schroeder, Nicholas Hostetter, Mason Schroeder, Matt Schroeder, Katherine Schroeder, Veronica Schroeder, Anastasia Schroeder and Isabella Schroeder; one nephew, Todd Albertz and four nieces, Tricia Houghton, Melissa Migal, Tracy Runyan and Jennifer Garrett.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church with Concelebrants Father Danny Schwendeman and Father Frank Osburg. Pallbearers will be Chase Hostetter, Nick Hostetter, Tyler Schroeder, Taylor Schroeder, Mason Schroeder and Matt Schroeder.
Visitation today, Thursday, Aug. 22, from 4–8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Friday at the church.
