Gene Royalty

Gene C. Royalty, 89, of Jamestown, formerly of Harrodsburg, passed away in the hospice in-patient unit at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset on Wednesday evening, July 24.

Gene was born in Harrodsburg on Sept. 13, 1929. to Hollie G. and Emma (Sallee) Royalty.

Gene is survived by his wife, Mildred, of Jamestown; sons. Mark (Connie) of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Alan (Mylinda) of Marietta, Georgia, five grandchildren (Chris, Scott, Kyle, Kelsey and Kurtis), and two great-grandchildren (Bruce and Arthur).

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Hollie and Emma, and a brother, Huntley.

A Celebration of Life and Legacy Service will be held on Saturday, August 17, at 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. in the fellowship hall at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Gene’s memory to the Harrodsburg Christian Church.
