William Martin

William A. “Bill” Martin, 78, of Harrodsburg, husband of Shirley Westerfield Martin, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Danville.

Born May 14, 1940, in Huntington, WV, he was the son of the late H. Clayton and Ila Mae Rankin Martin.

He was a retired journalist and public relations director for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He received his BA in journalism from the University of Kentucky and his Master’s Degree from Hollins College. He authored “Cattails and Curveballs” about the history of the Bluegrass Baseball League in Mercer county.
