For Kasey McRay, the opportunity to lead the Mercer County Senior High School boys basketball program is more than just a career move, it’s a full-circle moment.

A former Titan player and assistant coach, McRay has been named the school’s new head basketball coach, returning to the program that helped shape him both on and off the court.

“It means everything to me,” McRay said. “This job has been on my radar for a long time, and to have the opportunity to lead the program that helped shape me as a young man is truly a dream come true.”

McRay comes to Mercer County after serving as head coach at Garrard County High School, where he spent three seasons building both his coaching résumé and leadership philosophy. Before that, he gained valuable experience working under Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino at the University of Louisville — a time he says greatly influenced his approach to the game.
