Weekender For Jan. 9—17: Harrodsburg 250th Documentary And More

Because of the weather many offices and businesses are closed. All listings were still valid at press time.

The Harrodsburg Historical Society will show the documentary, “The Harrodsburg Legacy: 250 Years In The Making” at their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 14, starting at 7 p.m. Filmmaker Michael Breeding will present his documentary about Harrodsburg and make comments afterwards. Stay for a light supper of soup and crackers.

Winter hours are in effect at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill through March 11. The Trustees Table, the Inn, the Trustees Shop, the Post Office Shop and Daily Adventure Tours will all be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Shaker Village will remain open to hikers, equestrians, walkers and photographers on Mondays and Tuesdays and the Welcome Center will remain opened and staffed around the clock. Overnight rooms are not bookable at the Inn on Monday and Tuesday nights, but rooms will be available Sunday nights, and guests will receive a complimentary to-go breakfast that can be picked up at the Welcome Center.

The dining room at the Trustees Table will be closed for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays. Breakfast will not be served on Wednesdays. The dining room will reopen for lunch on Wednesdays beginning at 11:30 a.m. and serve meals regularly through dinner on Sunday. Daily Adventure Tours are paused on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as access to historic buildings and museum spaces. For more information, call 859-734-5411 or visit on line at shakervillageky.org.

Winter Funfest at Devine’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch (623 Talmage-Mayo Road) runs through Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. Hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 9 p.m. The farm will be closed if weather conditions are not suitable for snow making (need sustained temps below 26 degrees) or if there has not been enough natural snowfall.
