Elf Jr. Auditions
Auditions for “Elf Jr., The Musical” will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. at Ragged Edge Community Theatre (111 South Main Street). Callbacks will be Sunday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m.
Based on the beloved holiday film starring Will Ferrell, this fish-out-of-water comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity. Ragged Edge’s production of this YouthStage musical will be directed by Managing Director Allan Barlow with musical direction by Lori Patterson, choreography by Ami Wilcox, costumes by Judy Machal Barlow and stage management by Molly Pryse.
Being a YouthStage musical, auditions are open to actors between the ages of 6 to 18 and roles are available for all ages. Auditioners are asked to be prepared to sing a 16-bar cut of any song of their choosing. They should bring recorded accompaniment music on their phone or other device. No acapella auditions will be accepted. There is no need for a prepared monologue because auditioners will be asked to read scenes and cuttings from the script of “Elf Jr., The Musical.” Please wear comfortable shoes for dancing if needed.
Public performances are scheduled for Nov. 15-17 and 22-24. In addition, there will be school matinees on Nov. 19, 20, 21 and 22. Audition forms need to be completed online at raggededgetheatre.org.
