Michael Ray Goodlett, 72, of Harrodsburg, husband of Karen Johnson Goodlett, died Friday, May 8, 2026, at James B. Haggin Hospital Ephraim McDowell. 

Born Dec. 11, 1953, in Harrodsburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Cora (Gritton) Goodlett Sr.

He was a retired lab technician in the Engineering Department of IBM Inc. and LexMark and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife,  include:  two daughters, Sessani (Kevin) Withers and Hope (Darren) Ransdell, both of Mercer County; three sisters, Jean Blackburn, Brenda (Bob) Drury and Gaye Goodlett; four brothers, Cleo (Patty) Goodlett, John Alvin (Nancy) Goodlett, Jerry (Charlene) Goodlett and Tommy (Pat) Goodlett and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Charles Jr., Donald, David, Leon, James and Joe Goodlett and one sister, Linda G. Mitchell.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 13, at the Mt. Pleasant Church with Derek Baker and Cleo Goodlett officiating.  Burial was in the Mayo Christian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Darren, Bella and Reese Ransdell, Kevin, Taylor and Brooklyn Withers, David, Stephen, Chris, Nick, Kevin and Todd Goodlett, Brian Hopson and Richard McCRoskey. Honorary pallbearers were Cleo (Patty) Goodlett, John Alvin (Nancy) Goodlett, Dee Dee McCroskey, Jerry (Charlene) Goodlett, Tommy (Pat) Goodlett, Bob and Brenda Drury, Jean Blackburn, Gaye Goodlett, Gayle, Elton, William Elton and Wesley Johnson, Randy Orwig, Carlos Lane, Alan and Brent Hazelwood, Rodney Thompson, Dennis Curtsinger, Billy Ray Robinson, and several nieces, nephews and close neighbors.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place TN, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Mt. Pleasant Church, 446 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Harrodsburg, KY 40330.
