A closure on New Dixville Road (Kentucky Route 1941) has been extended to Friday, May 22.

Last week, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) warned motorists of a scheduled road closure on New Dixville Road (KY 1941) in Mercer County for a road slide repair. That closure, between mile points 3.0 and 4.0, began Thursday, May 7. Originally scheduled to end Friday, May 15, the closure will continue for at least another week, KYTC said in a press release.

The roadway will be closed between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.

Motorists should seek alternate routes during closure hours. Alternate routes include KY 152, KY 422, KY 1920 and U.S. 68.

Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for signage and personnel in the area.

All work and/or closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and are subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.

District 7 includes Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Garrard, Jessamine, Madison, Mercer, Montgomery, Scott and Woodford Counties.
