Betty Jo Peavler

Betty Jo Peavler, 97, of Harrodsburg, widow of Llewellyn Peavler, died Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the Harrodsburg Health & Rehab of Harrodsburg.

Born March 10, 1929, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Ruby (Graves) Matherly.   

She was a homemaker and an interpreter at Shaker Village, was a member of member and Sunday School teacher at the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include: one daughter, Vicki Bell (Francois) Botha of Harrodsburg; two sons, Clinton (Karen) Peavler and Brooks (Pat) Peavler both of Harrodsburg;  four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Edgar “Sonny” Matherly and one sister, Dixie Huffman.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 22, at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Jordan Asbury officiating.  Burial was in Bruner’s Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chad, Clay, Tyler, Garrett and Collin Peavler and Cully Bell.
