Looking ahead to a busy 2026

Mercer County might be in the deep freeze right now, but things are going to be warming up before you know it. Here’s the second part of our look ahead at 2026. Keep in mind some of these listings are subject to change as dates and details are still being decided, especially when it comes to the local Independence Day fireworks shows. To keep up on all the latest events, check out the Weekender every week.

July

• Fireworks at Anderson-Dean Community Park (1501 Louisville Road) on Friday, July 3. Food trucks on site. Pool will be open until fireworks end. Bring chairs, blankets, and family. Fireworks at dusk.

• Independence Day—Saturday, July 4.

• Cruz on Chiles at Auto Kustoms (123 South Chiles Street). Open to all makes and models vehicles. Music, food trucks and more on Saturday, July 4, from 5 to 8 p.m.

• Lights Over Herrington at the Kennedy Bridge on Saturday, July 4. Biggest fireworks shows in Mercer County starts at dusk. lightsoverherrington.com.

• Friday Night On Main at Olde Town Park (126 South Main Street) on Friday, July 10. Live music as well as food and shopping from 5 to 10 p.m.

• Fun and Sun Fest at Anderson-Dean Community Park (1501 Louisville Road) Saturday, July 17, from noon to 6 p.m.

• The 198th Mercer County Fair and Horse Show (560 Linden Ave). America’s longest running horse show kicks off Monday, July 20, and runs for a week, concluding Saturday, July 25.
