Joyce Johnson
Joyce Johnson, 88, widow of Wendell Johnson, of Harrodsburg, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, at the Willows in Harrodsburg.
Born Feb. 27, 1937, in Lawrenceburg, she was the daughter of the late Edd and Ruby (Durr) Bailey.
She retired from the Mercer County School Systems as a cafeteria worker, was a member of Magnolia Christian Church where sang in the Gospel Quartet.
Survivors include: one daughter, Karen (Michael) Goodlett; one son, Richard Gayle Johnson; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Emma Dee West, Frances Cox and Aileen Cloyd, and one daughter-in-law, Judy Johnson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 2, at Ransdell Funeral Chapel, with Derek Baker, Trent Baker and Rich Mardis officiating. Burial was in Mayo Christian Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kevin Withers, Nick McKinney, Brantley McKinney, Darren Ransdell, Clay Turner and Wesley Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Goodlett, Sessani Withers, Lynette McKinney, Bella Ransdell, Taylor Withers, Hailey McKinney, Judley McKinney, William Elton Johnson, Elton Johnson, Hope Ransdell, Lesley Turner, Reese Ransdell, Brooklyn Withers, Conley McKinney and Judewynn Turner; nieces and nephews, Dallas and Glenda Waterfill, Rodney and Mary Thompson, Jimmy Sexton, Jerry and Regina Shelly, Dennis and Karen Curtsinger, Ralph and Judy Henselman.
