Eugenia Whayne
Eugenia “Genie” Ingram Whayne, 85, widow of Dr. Thomas “Tom” French Whayne Jr., of Lexington, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025 at her home.
Born Feb. 10, 1940, in Harrodsburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Givens “S.G.” Ingram and Ruth McDonald Ingram.
She was a 1957 graduate of Harrodsburg High School, a 1961 graduate of Randolph Macon Women’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia where she received her Bachelor’s degree, served on the Board of Directors for Camp Horsin’ Around and the Ronald MacDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass.
Survivors include: two sons, Tom (Camille) Whayne and Jim (Charlene) Whayne; one daughter, Kathy (John) Ficalora; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, James “Jim” Ingram.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 22, at Second Presbyterian Church in Lexington. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.
Visitation 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.
