Rebecca Clem

Rebecca Clem, 91, of Salvisa, wife of Loyd Clem, died Monday, March 23, 2020, at her home.

Born May 7, 1928, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Preston and Eva (Currens) Stratton.

Rebecca was a retired Servomation Refreshments employee, worked at Signet Systems and Corning Inc., was a member of the Claylick Methodist Church and was a graduate of Salvisa High School.

She was a homemaker, loved working in her gardens and canning, as well as cooking and feeding friends and family from her kitchen. She loved her family and, most of all, loved her Lord.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include: three daughters, Kathy (Billy) Nevius, Rhonda Beasley and Regina Orwig, all of Mercer County; one son, Randy (Cindy) Orwig of Mercer County; one stepdaughter, Debra Parr of Winchester; three sisters, Kathalene Bowen of Lawrenceburg, Jeanette (Bill) Sullivan of Between, Georgia, and Lavenia Wayne of Harrodsburg; two brothers, Lyle (Bonnie) Stratton of Bowling Green and Arnett Stratton of Lawrenceburg; six grandchildren, Mecia Shepperson of Berwick, Pennsylvania, Shawna (Russell) Anderson, Chad and Damon Beasley, and Kristi and Angela Orwig, all of Mercer County; two step-grandchildren, Kasie (Larry) Taylor of Jackson County and Victoria (Chris) Lewis of Lexington; nine great-grandchildren, Kendrick, Blake, and Scarlett King, Shawnee and Cheyenne Reed, Campbell and Langston Beasley, Hailey Sparks and Aiden Anderson; two step-great-grandchildren, Addison Lewis and Damien Taylor; five great-great-grandchildren, Shealyn and Colton King, Kennedy Orwig, Arieanna Reed and Kayson Mullins.

Rebecca was preceded in death by a husband, Harley Orwig; two grandchildren, Ashley Temple and Courtney Tunnell; and six siblings, Gertie Hill, Mae Redmond, Frances Ellis, Kenneth, Bobby and Sherman Stratton.

Graveside services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 27, at the Spring Hill Outdoor Pavilion with John H. Hockersmith, Charlie Shoemaker and Jonathan Grizzell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Chad and Damon Beasley, Kendrick and Blake King, Russell Anderson, Chris Lewis and Larry Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will great- and great-great-grandchildren.
