Janet Ingram

Janet Thomas Ingram, 81, wife of James G. Ingram, of Harrodsburg, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at The Willows in Harrodsburg.

Born Dec. 31, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late M. H. “Tommy” and Mary Virginia Tharpe Thomas.

Janet cared deeply for her family, friends, church and community. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Janet was a devoted member of Harrodsburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) serving as an elder, a leader in Christian Women’s Fellowship, a Sunday School teacher and a Vacation Bible School teacher for many years. She was involved with The American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program. She belonged to the Harrodsburg Historical Society and had an interest in genealogy. Janet attended the University of Kentucky and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.

Survivors, in addition her husband, include: three daughters, Dianne Oliverio, Dawn (Mark) Olive, and Debbie (Greg) Souder; eight grandchildren, Anthony and Dominic Oliverio, Allison Olive (Doug) Weidman, Natalie and Elizabeth Olive, Nicolas, Landon, and Emmy Souder; one sister, Joyce Newman; one brother, Bruce (Lana) Thomas; a sister-in-law, Genie (Tom) Whayne; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Pember.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at the Harrodsburg Christian Church by Gaye Haralu. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Friday at the Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Pallbearers are: Anthony and Dominic Oliverio, Nicolas, Landon and Greg Souder and Mark Olive. Honorary bearers are: Elders of the Harrodsburg Christian Church.

Memorials are suggested to the Harrodsburg Christian Church, 305 S. Main St., Harrodsburg, KY 40330, or to a charity of one’s choice.
