Titans Basketball Defend Home Turf

The Titans picked up their third win of the season remaining undefeated at home Friday night against the Rockets of Shelby County (0-5), 71-58.
Mercer’s defense took control of the game early holding the Rockets to single digit scoring  in the first quarter taking an 11-9 lead.
Their defense softened in the second quarter allowing Shelby County to score 17 points, but an offensive explosion by the Titans lifted them to a 7 point halftime lead, 33-26.
The second half was much like the first with the Titans out scoring the Rockets by just two points in the third quarter and taking a double digit lead, 53-42, before running away in the fourth to get the win, 71-58.
